In this summer course students will learn how to create video games using scratch programming language. Students will create and program a robot with Lego EV3. We will also spend part of each day playing games such as chess and scrabble! 

Scratch Programming
Scratch is a programming language designed and maintained by MIT Lab. Kids program their own interactive stories, games, and animations with scratch. Scratch helps young people learn to think creatively, reason systematically, and work collaboratively — essential skills for life in the 21st century.

How to use different blocks and create new blocks
Creating your own video game

Lego EV3
LEGO MINDSTORMS EV3 gives you the power to create and command your own robotic LEGO creatures, vehicles, machines and inventions! By combining LEGO elements with a programmable brick, motors and sensors, you can make your creations walk, talk, grab, think, shoot and do almost anything you can imagine!

There are many ways to bring your LEGO MINDSTORMS creations to life which you will enjoy learning in our program!

Program the new EV3 brick
What are the new components to the EV3 system
Program the EV3 with LabView
Build fantastic robotic creations
Incorporate Technic creations into MINDSTORMS

Please bring a nut free snack, lunch and a refillable water bottle. Laptops and EV3 Lego Mindstorm kits will be provided.

Refund Policy
If you withdraw from a program at anytime prior to two weeks before the program start date, you will receive an account credit good towards other Parks and Recreation programs. Account credits do not expire. Account credit will not be issued if the cancellation takes places within two weeks of the program start date. Cancellations due to a medical emergency will have the option to receive an account credit or a refund at anytime with proper medical documentation. If a program is cancelled by Parks and Recreation, you will have the option to receive an account credit or a refund for that program.
