Home Alone Safety

Home Alone
Children learn telephone- and door-answering techniques, internet safety, accident and fire protection and first aid techniques. We also talk about how children should manage their time when home alone for short periods of time. The class includes a variety of teaching methods and includes a video and role playing.

For our online class, you will be sent a link for the zoom meeting and a printable handout prior to the start of class. Basic information on how to attend a Zoom meeting is below.


Instructor: Maryellen McNally has been a teacher of students from k-8 for over 27 years, in both public and private school settings.
Additionally she has worked as a camp counselor and director as well as at numerous afterschool programs in the area. She has three teaching certificates and a Masters Degree in Elementary Education.
She has been teaching community education classes since 2003.

Refund Policy
If you withdraw from a program at anytime prior to two weeks before the program start date, you will receive an account credit good towards other Parks and Recreation programs. Account credits do not expire. Account credit will not be issued if the cancellation takes places within two weeks of the program start date. Cancellations due to a medical emergency will have the option to receive an account credit or a refund at anytime with proper medical documentation. If a program is cancelled by Parks and Recreation, you will have the option to receive an account credit or a refund for that program.
