In week three, students will use vibrant canvas paints to create cozy, snowy scenes full of frosty trees and sparkling snowflakes. They’ll learn basic painting techniques while bringing the magic of winter to life on their own canvases. Each child will take home a colorful, seasonal artwork to cherish.

In week two, students will mix glue, activator, glitter, and fun trinkets to create their own colorful, squishy slime. They’ll experiment with textures and sparkles to make each slime unique and playful. It’s a hands-on, sensory-filled activity that’s all about creativity and fun!
In week three, children will use vibrant paints to capture the colors and beauty of autumn. They’ll create scenes filled with pumpkins, falling leaves, and golden trees while learning basic painting techniques. Each child will take home their own seasonal masterpiece.
Session 2: Pumpkin Painting, Weaving & 3D Art MakingIn week one, kids will decorate pumpkins using bright paints, googly eyes, and soft felt pieces to create fun and silly faces. In this interactive course, students are introduced to code puzzles, express and apply computing steps, build and play with code blocks (Animation, music/sound blocks). They will build fun games and animations using Events, Conditional and Repetition concepts. As students progress, they will delve into more advanced game design. Followed by unplugged activities.Animation and Develop Games - Level 3, Grade 4-5Equips students with foundational coding skills and computational thinking through interactive game design.Lesson Breakdown:Introduction to Block-Based Coding: Students learn the basics of programming and develop critical thinking skills.Maze Game Creation: Step-by-step instruction on building, testing, and debugging a maze game to understand core programming concepts.Arcade and Sports Games Development: Students advance to creating single and multiplayer games, applying loops, conditionals, and mathematical operations.Followed by unplugged activitiesDevelop Games using Code Blocks and Python Level 1, Grade 5-8This course introduces foundational computing skills, express and apply computing steps, Build and play with code blocks. As well as providing a smooth transition from block coding to text-based programming. Participants will learn Python basics, including variables, loops, and conditionals. Using these skills, they will create visuals, artwork, simulations, and interactive games like Bounce!, Race, and more, using loops, conditionals. This comprehensive introduction sets the stage for more complex programming tasks and project-based learning, complemented by a lot of unplugged activities each week.Hands-on Robotics with Micro:bit (Block Coding) Level 1, Grade 4 to 6This engaging program introduces students to the exciting world of robotics and coding using Micro:bit, a pocket-sized programmable computer. Through hands-on experiments and block coding, students will explore the Micro:bit's built-in sensors, including an accelerometer, light sensor, and motion detector, to create fun and practical projects.Projects include:
Building a step counter
Designing a dice roller for board games
Creating an animal tracker
Many more exciting real-world experiments
Note: This class requires the purchase of a physical Micro:bit device, approximately $35, which can be used for future Micro:bit series classes.Hands-on Robotics with Micro:bit (using Python) Level 2, Grade 6 to 10This course introduces foundational computing skills and provides a smooth transition from block coding to text-based programming. Students will transition to Python, a versatile programming language, while learning essential concepts such as variables, loops, and functions.Key highlights of the course include:
Sensor Integration: Explore Micro:bit's built-in sensors, such as the accelerometer and light sensor, to create projects like a step counter and a dice roller for board games.
Advanced Sensor Projects: Use gesture and motion detection sensors to develop innovative projects, including an animal tracker, water bottle alert system, and plant watering system.
Data Handling and Real-World Applications: Learn to collect and analyze data for exciting science experiments and practical applications.
This hands-on program empowers students to enhance their problem-solving and coding skills while working on meaningful and engaging projects.Note: This class requires the purchase of a physical Micro:bit device, approximately $35, which can be used for future Micro:bit series classes.
