Join us for Playground Group 2022!  A Hopkinton tradition for over 30 years!Our mission this summer remains the same as always: to provide a safe place for kids to get outside and be active, to make some new friends and reconnect with old ones, and most importantly, have fun.The majority of our enthusiastic and engaging counselors including our Director, Julia Thissell, attended Playground Group themselves and are eager to pass on the fun memories they have of their time at Playground Group.Activities include:Field Day GamesTeam SportsArts & crafts, including the always popular tie dye!Short nature walksPlayground timeMusic & movies when the weather is not ideal for outdoor activitiesLittle Hillers, ages 5-7, will join us at Hopkins School for a fun-filled week of arts and crafts, sports, and games. Each week features a visit from a variety of entertainers such as Animal Adventures, the High Flying Frisbee Dogs, Magicians and more. Hopkinton Police K9 Titian and his handler may even stop by! The week ends with a pizza and Popsicle party! Junior Hillers, ages 8-12, will join us at Elmwood School for a week full of sports, Olympic events, and games like the always popular Pillow Polo! There will be two weekly trips to Sandy Beach, tie-dye, arts and crafts, water balloons and more. The week ends with an Olympic Ceremony, prizes, pizza and popsicles. And, the Wednesday trip to Water Whizz is back!!Check out our extended day option! You've spoken, we listened. 6:15 PM - 7:15 PM    STEM & Play: Soccer - Spring & Summer - Summer STEM & Play Soccer
Designed to pair strategic STEM-based activities with basic game-play and  current hot topics, the STEM Sports® soccer curriculum gives students the  opportunity to get behind the sport they love with modules on soccer ball  design, throw-in science, angles and goal-line technology! Skyhawks puts  the Sports in STEM.STEM & Play programs use sports as the real-life application to engage elementary and middle school-aged participants. The double-play combination of physical activity and cognitive thinking provides a comprehensive, inquiry-based educational experience and a solution for crucial science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) literacy for students.Per the Hopkinton Board of Health, masks are now recommended but not required.Presented by Skyhawks SportsSkyhawks provides a wide variety of fun, safe, and positive programs that emphasize critical lessons in sports and life, such as teamwork, respect, and sportsmanship. Our programs are designed to give children ages 2 up to 14 a positive introduction or next step into sports while fostering a lifelong love for an active, healthy lifestyle. Our patient and knowledgeable staff use a variety of skill-building games and activities to give each athlete a complete understanding and overview of the sport. Younger age groups focus  on developing motor skills and self-confidence; older classes focus more on  developing core soccer skills and personal focus, and introduce an element  of light competition. Instructor-to-student ratio is kept small to maximize  individual development, and above all else we promote fun, fun, fun!  Parent participation required for ages 2-3.5 years.Participants do not need cleats, sneakers are fine. Please bring water.
