10:00 AM - 1:30 PM    Rec Basketball - Grade 3/4 Girls
The Parks and Recreation in-town basketball program is designed to provide a positive environment for youngsters to learn and play basketball with and against their classmates. Due to state and local health restrictions, the rec basketball program will be structured differently this year.We will be offering weekly practices/scrimmages for boys and girls in Grades 3-8, all at Center School. Center School is located at 11 Ash St. There will not be any formal games. At this time we are not planning to offer clinics for Grades K-2.In order to satisfy health requirements and due to restrictions on gym availability, teams will be limited to nine players, and there will be a maximum of six teams in each grade/division. Once we reach the maximum number of players, additional registrants will be placed on a wait list in case anyone drops out. This program is limited to Hopkinton residents only. Please be aware that adjustments to the program may need to be made based on any changes in state and local health guidelines. Registration closes November 9At each session, two teams will share the court. Each team will use half the gym for skills training during the first 30 minutes. For the remaining 30 minutes, the two teams then will scrimmage following the modified playing rules issued by the state. EVERY CHILD (AND COACH) MUST WEAR A FACE COVERING DURING THE ENTIRE SESSION. Basketballs will be provided and cleaned between clinics. Players must bring their own water bottle with their name on it. Participants will be required to use hand sanitizer when entering the gym and after each water break.ONLY PLAYERS, COACHES AND SUPERVISORS ARE ALLOWED IN THE GYM. No parents, siblings, etc. You will drop off and pick up your child outside the gym.Schedule information for each age group is below. Score a winning goal with our NEW Street Hockey program! Coaches teach the key concepts of passing, shooting, defense, stick handling and speed in a safe, non-checking environment. 3:30 PM - 5:00 PM    Cross-Country Skiing - Youth Learn to XC ski
Learn to Cross-Country SkiHopkinton Parks and Recreation is excited to offer this NEW winter sport to our community. Cross-country skiing is a great outdoor experience for all ages.Our program instructors will teach you the basic skills of Cross-country skiing. Learning skills like push-off, gliding, turning, and stopping on flat and hilly terrain, will get you outside, exercising and enjoying the beauty of winter.Our youth program will meet for four weeks on Wednesdays, beginning January 6th, 2021 at Hopkinton High School on fields 7 and 8, next to the turf fields.Our High School/Adult program will be offered as a one-day, 2 hour clinic on Saturday, January 9th at Hopkinton High School fields 7 and 8, next to the turf fields.Details on drop off and pick up times along with Covid procedures will be provided prior to the start of the program. Parks and Recreation will not be providing equipment this year. There are many ski stores in the surrounding area. Here are a few we suggest to buy/rent cross-country skis. Learn to Cross-Country SkiHopkinton Parks and Recreation is excited to offer this NEW winter sport to our community. Cross-country skiing is a great outdoor experience for all ages.Our program instructors will teach you the basic skills of Cross-country skiing. Learning skills like push-off, gliding, turning, and stopping on flat and hilly terrain, will get you outside, exercising and enjoying the beauty of winter.Our youth program will meet for four weeks on Wednesdays, beginning January 6th, 2021 at Hopkinton High School on fields 7 and 8, next to the turf fields.Our High School/Adult program will be offered as a one-day, 2 hour clinic on Saturday, January 9th at Hopkinton High School fields 7 and 8, next to the turf fields.Details on drop off and pick up times along with Covid procedures will be provided prior to the start of the program. Parks and Recreation will not be providing equipment this year. There are many ski stores in the surrounding area. Here are a few we suggest to buy/rent cross-country skis. The Parks and Recreation in-town basketball program is designed to provide a positive environment for youngsters to learn and play basketball with and against their classmates. Due to state and local health restrictions, the rec basketball program will be structured differently this year.We will be offering weekly practices/scrimmages for boys and girls in Grades 3-8, all at Center School. Center School is located at 11 Ash St. There will not be any formal games. At this time we are not planning to offer clinics for Grades K-2.In order to satisfy health requirements and due to restrictions on gym availability, teams will be limited to nine players, and there will be a maximum of six teams in each grade/division. Once we reach the maximum number of players, additional registrants will be placed on a wait list in case anyone drops out. This program is limited to Hopkinton residents only. Please be aware that adjustments to the program may need to be made based on any changes in state and local health guidelines. Registration closes November 9At each session, two teams will share the court. Each team will use half the gym for skills training during the first 30 minutes. For the remaining 30 minutes, the two teams then will scrimmage following the modified playing rules issued by the state. EVERY CHILD (AND COACH) MUST WEAR A FACE COVERING DURING THE ENTIRE SESSION. Basketballs will be provided and cleaned between clinics. Players must bring their own water bottle with their name on it. Learn to Cross-Country SkiHopkinton Parks and Recreation is excited to offer this NEW winter sport to our community. Cross-country skiing is a great outdoor experience for all ages.Our program instructors will teach you the basic skills of Cross-country skiing. Learning skills like push-off, gliding, turning, and stopping on flat and hilly terrain, will get you outside, exercising and enjoying the beauty of winter.Our youth program will meet for four weeks on Wednesdays, beginning January 6th, 2021 at Hopkinton High School on fields 7 and 8, next to the turf fields.Our High School/Adult program will be offered as a one-day, 2 hour clinic on Saturday, January 9th at Hopkinton High School fields 7 and 8, next to the turf fields.Details on drop off and pick up times along with Covid procedures will be provided prior to the start of the program. Parks and Recreation will not be providing equipment this year. There are many ski stores in the surrounding area. Here are a few we suggest to buy/rent cross-country skis. Learn to Cross-Country SkiHopkinton Parks and Recreation is excited to offer this NEW winter sport to our community. Cross-country skiing is a great outdoor experience for all ages.Our program instructors will teach you the basic skills of Cross-country skiing. Learning skills like push-off, gliding, turning, and stopping on flat and hilly terrain, will get you outside, exercising and enjoying the beauty of winter.Our youth program will meet for four weeks on Wednesdays, beginning January 6th, 2021 at Hopkinton High School on fields 7 and 8, next to the turf fields.Our High School/Adult program will be offered as a one-day, 2 hour clinic on Saturday, January 9th at Hopkinton High School fields 7 and 8, next to the turf fields.Details on drop off and pick up times along with Covid procedures will be provided prior to the start of the program. Parks and Recreation will not be providing equipment this year. There are many ski stores in the surrounding area. Here are a few we suggest to buy/rent cross-country skis. Learning basketball has never been more fun! These classes focus on dribbling, shot technique, passing and teamwork. Adjustable hoops and appropriately-sized basketballs are used to always provide just the right amount of challenge.Covid Safety: A mask is required. A health questionnaire will be required before each class. Detailed instructions on collection of the health data and drop-off and pickup procedures will be sent prior to the first class. Participants will learn the fundamentals of swinging, putting, body positioning, etiquette and keeping score. The program is specifically designed for the entry-level player, simplifying instruction so that young players can make an easy and effective transition onto the golf course. 3:30 PM - 5:00 PM    Cross-Country Skiing - Youth Learn to XC ski
Learn to Cross-Country SkiHopkinton Parks and Recreation is excited to offer this NEW winter sport to our community. Cross-country skiing is a great outdoor experience for all ages.Our program instructors will teach you the basic skills of Cross-country skiing. Learning skills like push-off, gliding, turning, and stopping on flat and hilly terrain, will get you outside, exercising and enjoying the beauty of winter.Our youth program will meet for four weeks on Wednesdays, beginning January 6th, 2021 at Hopkinton High School on fields 7 and 8, next to the turf fields.Our High School/Adult program will be offered as a one-day, 2 hour clinic on Saturday, January 9th at Hopkinton High School fields 7 and 8, next to the turf fields.Details on drop off and pick up times along with Covid procedures will be provided prior to the start of the program. Parks and Recreation will not be providing equipment this year. There are many ski stores in the surrounding area. Here are a few we suggest to buy/rent cross-country skis. 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM    STEM & Play: Basketball - Session 1
This program combines strategic STEM-based activities with traditional Skyhawks basketball instruction and a focus on life skills such as teamwork and sportsmanship. The STEM Sports® basketball curriculum educates children on subjects including velocity and acceleration, basketball shoe design, tracking with technology and much, much more! Participants will also learn the fundamentals of passing, shooting, ball handling, rebounding and defense through skill-based drills and scrimmages. Skyhawks puts the Sports in STEM.STEM & Play programs use sports as the real-life application to engage elementary and middle school-aged participants.
