4:30 PM - 6:00 PM    Winter Crafts for Kids! - Winter Crafts
Come join us on Mondays for a fun-filled night of wreath making, canvas painting and pinecone art! Students will work independently creating their own projects, with the help of the instructor, and take home a finished masterpiece each week. In the first week, children will use real evergreens and learn how to make a winter wreath of their very own. In week two, students will paint using a variety of paint colors, canvas and easel. Each child will be instructed stroke by stoke, creating a winter scene masterpiece. In the last class, students will use pine cones, paint, glue and other fun materials to make one-of-a-kind pine cone art.This class is taught by Hopkinton mother, Stacie Kirkwood, who has enjoyed making similar crafts with her own children. All supplies & materials will be provided.

Recreational pickup style volleyball is again offered to both men and women. This is an informal volleyball program held on Monday evenings where different teams are picked each night. Please check in each night, unregistered drop ins will be turned away.Stayed tuned, we may be adding an opportunity to play on Sundays!Program is subject to school needs. When there is no school, Pickup Volleyball will not take place. Please check the schedules below. Cancellation notices due to inclement weather will be emailed. 9:15 AM - 10:15 AM    Outdoor Yoga and Hiking for Adults - Outdoor yoga and hiking - Fall session 2
Join Ritu Kapur of SOHUM Yoga and Meditation for an outdoor class of yoga and hiking. We will meet on Friday mornings at the Emerald Hill Soccer field. We will start with 15 minutes of yoga to warm up the body, followed by a hike in the woods for 35-45 minutes. Time permitting we will end with a short meditation. Please bring water and bug spray. Light hiking shoes are recommended.Yoga and Hiking is appropriate for adults at all levels. Email the instructor with any concerns about injuries: ritu.kapur@sohum.orgClasses will begin at Emerald Hills field near 46 Greenwood Road.

The Pediatric First Aid & CPR course incorporates the latest science and teaches students to recognize and care for a variety of first aid emergencies such as burns, cuts, scrapes, sudden illnesses, head, neck, back injuries, heat and cold emergencies and how to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies to help pediatric victims (infants and children up to 12 years of age). Students who successfully complete this course will receive a certificate for Pediatric First Aid/CPR valid for two years. This class provides youth who are planning to baby sit with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and responsibly give care for children and infants. This training will help participants to develop leadership skills; learn how to develop a babysitting business, keep themselves and others safe and help children behave; and learn about basic child care and basic first aid. The recommended age for this course is 11-15 years old or anyone who works with children on a daily basis.You are welcome to bring a light, peanut free snack. Class ends promptly at the designated time. Please arrive promptly to retrieve your student from the classroom.This program was developed by Holly Burns and Cate Barry for their Girl Scout Silver Award. The idea for this class was motivated by the girls desire to increase responsiveness to medical emergencies. The girls would like to thank the KeepSmilin4Abbie Foundation and trainer Michelle Levenson for providing assistance and support towards the success of this program.

This fun and engaging class keeps students challenged while integrating key concepts of shooting a traditional recurve bow. All equipment provided and students are trained by teams of certified USA Archery instructors. Prizes awarded to the top ace!This program is open to youth and adults! A great family activity!Teams of certified USA Archery Instructors provide all equipment necessary for participants to learn the fundamentals and find their new passion. Each student receives their own bow, quiver, arrows and shooting lane spaced out 6’ or more apart from others. No prior experience necessary. Lessons include safety, skill technique, archery games and prizes for the top ace.Presented by On the Mark Archery. Archery should be safe and fun. This balance is critical to make the experience in our programs exciting for all who want to explore the way of the bow. Space on the bus for the 2023 Hopkins Ski program is sold out. We are unable to add a third bus. However, students unable to ride the bus can still participate! Please purchase a group lift ticket, via the activity link below titled: Lift Ticket Only, no bus pass or lesson. A responsible adult must provide transportation to and from the mountain. Because we are expanding this program, due to popular demand, we must have additional chaperones. At checkout please indicate if you are able to chaperone - you can volunteer for any amount of trips. Our priority is the safety of all participants.For your convenience, guardians who would like to ski are able to purchase a lift ticket through our site along with the students' ticket. This is not a requirement, just an option. This adult option is ONLY available to guardians of participants who are being driven to the mountain.The lessons are SOLD OUT and Nashoba Valley is unable to expand due to staffing. We do not recommend participating in this program if you have no prior ski experience.________________________________________________________________The Parks and Recreation Department is happy to offer ski club to Hopkins School students. The program is for Hopkinton residents grades 4-5. Students ski at Nashoba Valley Ski Area after school on five Thursdays starting January 5rd, see schedule below.Ski club is a life experience with a little skiing. For many participants, ski club is a child's first time participating in an activity without their parents. Participants learn how to navigate independently (with minimal assistance) to find their equipment, to show up on time for a lesson, to follow directions, to make new friendships, and especially to advocate for themselves and others.RegistrationPlease purchase the following:1: Bus pass  - after December 11th, a $20 late fee will be applied2: Lift ticket or a lift ticket & lesson combinationDetailed program instructions regarding when and where to drop off equipment, dismissal instructions, departing and returning policies at Hopkins will be sent by December 21st. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!!!! This program runs only with the help of adult volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering, please submit your contact information when you register for the bus and we will get in touch with you. Or email the Hopkins Ski Coordinator Julie Leyshon.Chaperones: Knowledge of skiing is not required, however it is useful. Please consider helping for one or multiple trips.
