Hopkinton Babe Ruth is excited to be back for another year! Despite losing the spring season last year, we were able to have a safe and fun return to baseball with an amazing summer and brand new fall league. Hopkinton Babe Ruth is happy to announce we are offering three seasons of baseball in 2021!

Hopkinton Babe Ruth's goal is to provide teenagers aged 13-16, of all ability levels, the opportunity to play organized baseball after they have aged out of Hopkinton Little League. Everyone is welcome to play in a fun, competitive, and educational environment.

Hopkinton Babe Ruth Spring League
Two games per week, weeknights, 6:30-8:30pm
The goal of the Spring Season is to give everyone the chance to continue playing in-town baseball. It is an ideal opportunity for thirteen year-olds that have never played on the "big diamond" before, to become oriented to the bigger field. It’s also a great way for kids that have left the game and want to play again. We offer instruction from our coaches to introduce young players to the new rules and skills that are different from Little League - including leading and base running as well as pitching and picking off runners. There are no scheduled practices. The overall atmosphere is fun and relaxed where coaches and players alike "get the rust out". There are no tryouts. Players of all ability levels are welcome to join.

The spring season consists of an 8 to 10-game regular season followed by the Mahon Cup playoff ending in early June. All games are played in town at the HHS fields with patched umpires. There are two games per week, weeknights, 6:30-8:30pm. Specific team schedules will be announced in April. If the number of teams is limited, we will expand our season to include travel games to other towns.

Hopkinton Babe Ruth Summer League

Three games per week, weeknights, 6:00-8:00pm
Hopkinton Babe Ruth participates in the Tri-Valley Babe Ruth Summer League.  The league is for players of all ability levels and there are no tryouts.  Attendance is flexible with 50% regular summer season attendance required for playoff eligibility.  All Hopkinton players are welcome even if they did not play in the HBR spring season.

The summer season consists of a 12-game regular season followed by a playoff ending in mid-July. Six games are played at home and six games are away in towns that can include Holliston, Medway, Millis, Ashland, Medfield, Franklin, or Hopedale. There are three games per week. Thirteen year-olds and fourteen year-olds play in a Minor division Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays 6:00-8:00pm. Fifteen to seventeen year-olds* play in a Major division Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays 6:00-8:00pm.

*Baseball age is determined by the player’s age as of August 31, 2021.

Senior Babe Ruth (Early June to Mid-July)
If you are aged sixteen to nineteen years old, and would like to play Varsity High School, American Legion or college baseball someday, this is the team for you. This team plays a competitive schedule, requires players to try out, make a summer commitment, and involves travel. This program is ideal for high school players that want to face good competition in a very organized, competitive environment. Registrants information is passed along to the regional coordinator who will contact interested participants.
