eScout Academy is offering creative online courses to inspire Elementary and Middle school students towards computing and learn the basics of Science and Physical computing as well as Robotics concepts in a fun and easy way. Courses consist of different themed activities like Art, music, storytelling, interactive games, science experiments to inspire and engage students towards technology, and "Making STEM fun and real".
Courses focus on building creativity(through interactive exercises), social emotional intelligence, peer-peer learning, working in a group environment, design thinking, mathematical thinkers, and real-world problem-solvers.
Animation and Develop Games I, Grades 2-3:
Explore code puzzles and apply computing steps using Blockly.
Develop real games using Minecraft, arcade, and sports games with a focus on Repeat, conditionals, mathematical operators concepts.
Develop Games II: Roblox, Minecraft, Grades 3-4:
Intro to Roblox, Minecraft, students will build awesome games like Obby, Adv Maps etc.
Intro to programming, Drawing basics, and animation basics using p5.js
Develop Games III: Python, p5.js Intro Web, Grades 4-6:
Intro to python (pygame), Build games: Bounce!, Race
Intro to processingJS, drawing, animation, and interacting with the web
Physical Computing I: Science experiments with “Micro:bit”, Grades 3-4:
Introduction to micro:bit, code editor, and blocks
Science experiments using different sensors like Accelerometer, Light, Temperature, Compass, Input and Output PINS
Physical computing II: Interact electronic components using Arduino, Grades 5-7:
Getting started with electronic components using Arduino
Building parallel and series circuits using Ohm’s Law (mini-project)
Build a prototype to control LED’s lights (learn conditionals and serial communications concepts) (includes final-project)
All sessions are taught online via Zoom. A laptop or tablet is required.
Physical computing courses require Micro:bit or Arduino Kits, either you can rent from us for $15 or purchase online for $30-$50. We will share more details before the start of the course.

If you withdraw from a program at any time prior to two weeks before the program start date, you will receive an account credit good towards other Parks and Recreation programs. Account credits do not expire. Account credit will not be issued if the cancellation takes place within two weeks of the program start date. Cancellations due to a medical emergency will have the option to receive an account credit or a refund at any time with proper medical documentation. If a program is cancelled by Parks and Recreation, you will have the option to receive an account credit or a refund for that program. The processing fee associated with all credit card transactions will not be refunded.
If a program is suspended due to a recommendation by the CDC or the State and local Dept. of Health, customers can elect to take a refund or a credit. Credits will have no expiration date and can be applied to any program and can be used for any member of your household.
