Mill Pond 1
Come learn one of America’s favorite past times!

This program is taught by local resident and mother of two, Stacie Kirkwood, who grew up fishing at local lakes and ponds. She has taught many children to fish over the years and hopes to share this fun hobby with others.

Students will learn how to cast a line, bait their own hooks and even how to safely remove a fish from their hook and release it back into the water. General fishing and water safety guidelines will be covered. Students will learn about the different species of local fish offered in our local lakes and ponds. No experience necessary.

Students must have their own fishing rod complete with line, hook & bobber & utility gloves. Live bait will be provided.

Please contact Stacie Kirkwood with questions and advice on where to find equipment:

Class will take place in Ashland at Mill Pond Park. Class will be held on the walking bridge at the head of the Riverwalk Trail.

Due to the mix of vaccinated and unvaccinated age groups and the close nature of some of the instruction, masks are required for this class.
