eScout
eScout Academy is offering creative online courses to inspire Elementary and Middle school students towards computing. They will learn the basics of Science and Physical computing(STEM), and Robotics concepts in a fun and easy way. The courses consists of different themed activities like art, music, storytelling, interactive games, and science experiments. Each course is designed to inspire and engage students and "Making STEM fun and real".

Courses focus on building creativity, social-emotional intelligence, peer-peer learning, working in a group environment, design thinking, mathematical thinking, and real-world problem-solving.

Course Offerings
Animation and Develop Games Level I & II, Grades 2-4:
Explore code puzzles and apply computing steps using Blockly.
Develop real games using Minecraft, arcade, and sports games with a focus on Repeat, conditionals, mathematical operators concepts.

Animation and Develop Games - Level III, Grade 3 -4
Introduction, develop foundation thinking skills in computing by exploring block-based code. Explore and create a Maze game using a step-by-step approach, and debug concepts. Building single and multi-player arcade and sports games (Cover Repeat Until, Conditionals, Loops, Data, and mathematical Operator concepts).

Develop Games: Python, p5.js Intro Web, Grades 4-6:
Intro to python (pygame), Build games: Bounce!, Race 
Intro to processingJS, drawing, animation, and interacting with the web.

Develop Games using “python” Level 2, Grade 6-8:
Introduction to computing skills, Introduction to python, practice DataTypes,. create and inspect Variables, Operator playground, learn functions using py turtle module, Build games (Bounce!, Race) using loops, conditionals, and functions Mini Final project: Guess Number game, Body Mass Index (BMI) calculator/Solar System and more. Unplugged Activities.

Introduction to Micro bit, Project – Introduce different sensors like Accelerometer, Light, Temperature, and Compass. Project - Step Counter, Rolling dice for a board game etc.

Unplugged Activities - Focus on how to approach difficult problems and problem-solving processes.

All sessions are taught online via Zoom. A laptop or tablet is required.
