Children's Conversation Skills Workshop

For many children it is easy to strike up a conversation or join one already in progress but for others not so much. In today’s media-centered world, many children and teenagers lack interpersonal, communication and social skills. They are comfortable posting a picture or a comment online and communicating from behind a screen, however real-time conversations often stump them. Learning how to have conversations is important for children’s development, relationships, and well-being.
Our 60-minute workshop will cover some of the following topics:
How to start a conversation
Icebreakers to start a conversation
How to keep a conversation going
How to end a conversation
Topics to avoid
Active listening and not interrupting
Being respectful and non-judgmental
Rude and disrespectful body language and behavior
Giving and receiving compliments
