This Level 1 course introduces foundational computing skills through hands-on learning and play. Students will learn how to break down problems into clear computing steps and express them using code blocks, building a strong foundation for programming. As they grow in confidence, they’ll transition smoothly from block-based coding to text-based programming in Python.
Along the way, participants will explore Python essentials—like variables, loops, and conditionals—to create digital visuals, generative art, simple simulations, and interactive games such as Bounce! and Race! Weekly unplugged activities reinforce core concepts through movement, collaboration, and creativity.
By the end of the course, students will have a solid introduction to computational thinking and be ready to take on more advanced, project-based programming challenges.
