Sandy Beach Boat Launch Non-Resident Permit Policy
Scope
This policy applies to all non-resident individuals seeking to launch or operate boats at Sandy Beach in Hopkinton, Massachusetts, outside the established seasonal operational dates (Memorial Weekend to Labor Day Weekend).
Permit Requirement
Non-resident boaters must obtain a Permit prior to accessing Sandy Beach facilities when the beach is closed to general public use.
Permit Fee & Limits
- Fee: $250 per permit, payable at the time of application.
- Boat Allowance: Each permit authorizes the use of up to 10 boats per permit period.
Application & Issuance
- Applications must be submitted at least 14 days in advance of the desired start date.
- Permits are valid only for the specific off-season timeframe requested and may not be transferred or extended.
Conditions of Use
- All boaters must comply with Massachusetts boating regulations and Sandy Beach rules.
- Permit holders are responsible for ensuring that all vessels are properly registered, insured, and equipped.
Enforcement
Unauthorized off-season use by non-residents can result in fines and/or revocation of future permit privileges.
