Skiing Class
Registration opens on Monday, October 18th, 2021!
New this year: Registration closes November 1st, sign up today!

The Parks and Recreation Department is proud to offer another year of our very successful ski program to the students of Hopkins School.

Hopkins School students ski at Nashoba Valley Ski Area on Mondays January 3-February 7. Students depart on coach style buses for the mountain directly from school. If there is no school, there will be no ski club.

Registration requires TWO purchases:
1. Bus Pass
2. Lift ticket or lift ticket & lesson combination

An on-line release form required. Use the link below or click HERE to sign the waiver electronically. This is mandatory for your child to ski in our program.

Need to rent equipment?
There are three options:

Rent from Nashoba Valley at Hopkins School on Tuesday, December 7th from 6:30-8:00pm. The fitting will take place in the cafeteria. Representatives from Nashoba Valley will be on hand to fit your child for skis/board and boots. If you choose this option, your child will pick up and drop of their skis at Nashoba Valley on each trip. This rental option is the most convenient choice for kids who plan to ski only during ski club.
5 week equipment rental: $150; 5 week helmet rental: $45

Rent directly at Nashoba Valley Ski shop. If you miss the fitting night and would like to rent skis from Nashoba Valley, you must go to Nashoba Valley before the program begins to be fitted and pay for the rental. If you choose this option, your child will pick up and drop of his/her skis at Nashoba Valley on each trip. This rental option is the most convenient choice for kids who plan to ski only during ski club.
5 week equipment rental: $150; 5 week helmet rental: $45

Rent from a local store. Ski Barn Westboro, Boston Ski and Tennis Westboro, Ski Barn, Shrewsbury or Village Ski, Franklin are great locations. This option is great if your child plans to ski throughout the winter, not just during ski club. Costs vary depending on location. If you choose this option you will have to follow the ski equipment drop off procedures at Hopkins School. Specific drop off information will be sent prior to the start of the program. Please note that you cannot drop off ski equipment while buses and parents are dropping students off at the school.

Detailed program instructions regarding when and where to drop off equipment, bus notes, departing and returning policies at Hopkins will be sent by December 17th.

Volunteers Needed
This program only runs with the help of parent volunteers. We need volunteers to either chaperone or help with equipment drop off.
Chaperones: You do not have to know how to ski. Please consider helping for one or multiple trips.
Equipment Drop Off: Needed on Monday mornings to help arrange the boot bags in the cafeteria.

For more information and to request to be a volunteer please choose "YES I can help" during registration or email Hopkins Ski Coordinator Julie Leyshon: juliefleyshon@gmail.com
