Intro to photography
This workshop is designed for the young beginner photographer who wants to learn how to use their camera and take great photos. Students will learn the basic components and functions of their camera, such as ISO, aperture and shutter. Students will learn to shoot in manual mode and gain a basic understanding light and how to capture an image using the proper exposure. Classes will be held indoors and outdoors to offer students the chance to take photos in natural light. 

In this hands-on class, participants will be taking photos with their cameras, learning about composition, as well as how lens choice and focal length affect their images. Students will be introduced to basic post-production, learning how to download images, import/export images and also being introduced to the basic functionality of Adobe Lightroom.

Student must bring their Digital SLR camera, or mirrorless camera, as well as a lens, SD/CF card and charged battery to each class.

About the Instructor
This beginner's photography workshop is taught by professional photographer, Stacie Kirkwood. Stacie graduated from the photography program at The Center for Digital Imaging Arts at Boston University and has over 15 years of experience photographing weddings, portraits and events. She brings real world experience and lots of enthusiasm to her classroom, offering small class sizes and lots of 1-on-1 attention.
