CL Hands On
Hands-On Electronics
In a world powered by smart technology and AI, today’s innovators need to understand how hardware and software work together. This hands-on program gives young makers that essential edge.

Participants will begin by exploring the fundamentals of electronics through simple circuits, then progress to designing and programming their own devices using Arduino. Along the way, they’ll gain experience working with LEDs, speakers, sensors, and user-friendly programming tools.

Each session offers the opportunity to design, build, and code a new project, helping students develop problem-solving skills, creativity, and a strong foundation in electronics and engineering—all in a fun, supportive environment.

App Inventors
Ever wondered how the apps on your phone or tablet actually work? Or have an idea for the next great app? This beginner-friendly course is the perfect place to start!

Using MIT App Inventor, participants will design and build their own fun, creative apps for Android devices—no prior experience required. Along the way, students will explore wireless communication by creating custom Bluetooth-enabled controllers and integrating them with their apps.

Participants will learn both the programming and design principles behind successful apps, while gaining hands-on experience bringing their own ideas to life. With guidance from Circuit Lab instructors, each student will leave with new skills and apps they can be proud of.

About Circuit Labs
Circuit Lab is a small Boston-based company, started in 2015, that runs programs to teach children about circuitry (electrical engineering) and programming (computer science) through creative, hands-on projects. Our programs give kids the opportunity to engage with electronics as tools - not toys - and design their own devices by blending technical concepts with hands-on experimentation. It’s a creative and fun way to give kids fluency and confidence in an increasingly necessary skill.
