Get Your LEGO Game On! Calling all builders with big imaginations! Join us during February Vacation for a full week of awesome LEGO challenges. One day you might design the tallest skyscraper in town, and the next you could be creating a wild zoo, a busy airport, or a super-strong bridge. Right Brain Curriculum instructors will mix creativity with cool real-world stories — like how airports grew from simple landing strips into huge travel hubs, or why the famous Tacoma Narrows Bridge (aka “Galloping Gertie”) collapsed. You’ll have access to a huge supply of LEGO bricks to build whatever you dream up. We’ll photograph your completed creations so you can show off your hard-earned bragging rights. Big ideas, hands-on problem-solving, and a whole lot of fun. Let’s get building!

Designed with tank-style tracks and an infrared sensor, this rugged robot is built to handle off-road style challenges and smart navigation.Once assembled, students can control their robot wirelessly and explore exciting modes like storytelling, dancing, singing, and beginner-friendly programming. Whether you’re brand new to the wheel or already have some experience, this class will help you grow your skills and bring your ideas to life. Beginners will learn the fundamentals of wheel-throwing, like wedging, centering, shaping, and glazing, while returning students can challenge themselves with more advanced forms and techniques. Get ready to get your hands messy, relax into the rhythm of the wheel, and leave with pieces you’ll be proud to show off!Dates: February, 17–20Time: 9:30am-12:30pmGrades: 6-12Fun in the Arts Heroes vs. Villains Unleash your imagination this February Vacation as we dive into a world of heroes, villains, and everything in between! High School Rec Basketball is back by popular demand! Stay active and have fun this winter in our casual, games-only league for students in grades 9–12! Games are self-officiated, encouraging good sportsmanship as players call their own fouls. Parent volunteers are needed for supervision.Games will be played between 10:00am-12:00pm at Elmwood School starting Sunday, January 11th and run until February 22nd - no games February 15th. Exact time of game assignments will be determined by number of participants.Reversible Mesh Pinnie is included with registration.
 
10:00 AM - 2:00 PM    Babysitting Class with Pediatric First Aid & CPR - Babysitting Class with Pediatric First Aid & CPR - February
The Pediatric First Aid & CPR course incorporates the latest science and teaches students to recognize and care for a variety of first aid emergencies such as burns, cuts, scrapes, sudden illnesses, head, neck, back injuries, heat and cold emergencies and how to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies to help pediatric victims (infants and children up to 12 years of age). Students who successfully complete this course will receive a Red Cross certificate for Pediatric First Aid/CPR valid for two years. This class provides youth who are planning to baby sit with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and responsibly give care for children and infants. This training will help participants to develop leadership skills; learn how to develop a babysitting business, keep themselves and others safe and help children behave; and learn about basic child care and basic first aid. The recommended age for this course is 11-15 years old or anyone who works with children on a daily basis.Please bring a lunch as well as a light, snack. All items should be peanut free. Class ends promptly at the designated time. Please arrive promptly to retrieve your student from the classroom.This program was developed by Holly Burns and Cate Barry for their Girl Scout Silver Award. The idea for this class was motivated by the girls desire to increase responsiveness to medical emergencies. The girls would like to thank the KeepSmilin4Abbie Foundation and trainer Michelle Levenson for providing assistance and support towards the success of this program.

Ice & Frost Exploration: Experiment with ice, frost, and “frozen treasures” as we explore how water changes form. Little Drummers Get ready to move, groove, and make some noise! In this lively music program, children will explore the joy of rhythm through songs, movement, and hands-on play with percussion instruments. Each week features musical games and adventures that introduce little drummers to different instrument families and sounds from around the world. Kids will build coordination, listening, and memory skills while playing both non-pitched and pitched percussion instruments, strengthening fine and gross motor skills along the way. Little Drummers Get ready to move, groove, and make some noise! In this lively music program, children will explore the joy of rhythm through songs, movement, and hands-on play with percussion instruments. Each week features musical games and adventures that introduce little drummers to different instrument families and sounds from around the world. Kids will build coordination, listening, and memory skills while playing both non-pitched and pitched percussion instruments, strengthening fine and gross motor skills along the way. 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM    Babysitting Class with Pediatric First Aid & CPR - Babysitting Class with Pediatric First Aid & CPR - March
The Pediatric First Aid & CPR course incorporates the latest science and teaches students to recognize and care for a variety of first aid emergencies such as burns, cuts, scrapes, sudden illnesses, head, neck, back injuries, heat and cold emergencies and how to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies to help pediatric victims (infants and children up to 12 years of age). Students who successfully complete this course will receive a Red Cross certificate for Pediatric First Aid/CPR valid for two years. This class provides youth who are planning to baby sit with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and responsibly give care for children and infants. This training will help participants to develop leadership skills; learn how to develop a babysitting business, keep themselves and others safe and help children behave; and learn about basic child care and basic first aid. The recommended age for this course is 11-15 years old or anyone who works with children on a daily basis.Please bring a lunch as well as a light, snack. All items should be peanut free. Class ends promptly at the designated time. Please arrive promptly to retrieve your student from the classroom.This program was developed by Holly Burns and Cate Barry for their Girl Scout Silver Award. The idea for this class was motivated by the girls desire to increase responsiveness to medical emergencies. The girls would like to thank the KeepSmilin4Abbie Foundation and trainer Michelle Levenson for providing assistance and support towards the success of this program.
