5:30 PM - 6:30 PM    Conversation Skills Workshop for Children - Children's Conversation Skills, November
For many children it is easy to strike up a conversation or join one already in progress but for others not so much. In today’s media-centered world, many children and teenagers lack interpersonal, communication and social skills. They are comfortable posting a picture or a comment online and communicating from behind a screen, however real-time conversations often stump them. Learning how to have conversations is important for children’s development, relationships, and well-being. Our 60-minute workshop will cover some of the following topics:  How to start a conversationIcebreakers to start a conversationHow to keep a conversation goingHow to end a conversationTopics to avoidActive listening and not interruptingBeing respectful and non-judgmentalRude and disrespectful body language and behaviorGiving and receiving compliments
